## Static QR codes that never expire

This makes a **static** QR code: the link is stored in the pattern itself, so it keeps working forever, with no account and no redirect service in between. The catch is that you can't change where it points after printing, so check the link first.

## Know how many people scan it

A plain QR code tells you nothing about scans. Tick **Count scans** and the code points to a short link on measuremy.site that counts each scan before sending people on, with a free stats page of scans per day and country. Made without an account, a tracking link works for 30 days; signed in, it doesn't expire. Leave it unticked for a code that works forever.

Tick **Tag the link** and the link gets `utm_source=qr` and `utm_medium=offline`, plus your campaign name. Any analytics tool then shows scans as their own source instead of "direct". Use a different campaign name for each flyer, poster or table card to compare them.

## Tips for codes that scan

- Keep it dark on light. Inverted or low-contrast codes fail on many phone cameras.
- With a logo, use high error correction (the generator switches to it for you) and keep the logo small.
- Print at least 2 cm (about 0.8 in) wide, bigger if people scan from a distance.
- Shorter links make simpler codes that scan faster. Download SVG for print so it stays sharp at any size.

Plain codes never do: the link is in the code itself and doesn't depend on our servers. Codes with Count scans go through a short link, which lasts 30 days unless you make it while signed in.

### Can I track scans?

Tick Tag the link and scans arrive in your analytics with utm_source=qr; measuremy.site shows them by campaign, so you can see which poster or flyer brought visitors and signups.

### Can I use the codes commercially?

Yes. They're yours, free for any use, with no watermark.

### Is my logo uploaded?

No. The code and logo are drawn in your browser. Only with Count scans is the link itself sent to us, to make the short link.
