agentlytics vs Google Analytics
Last checked October 4, 2026. Cookieless and simple, versus free and very powerful.
The short version
Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is Google's free analytics product. It is the most widely used analytics tool on the web, with deep reporting, audiences and links into Google Ads.
agentlytics (measuremy.site) is cookieless analytics for websites and the AI agents that grow them: one script tag, one dashboard, and an MCP server so Claude Code, Cursor or Codex can read your traffic, funnels and campaign results.
Side by side
| Google Analytics | agentlytics | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Free (Google's paid tier is for large enterprises) | Free for 5,000 pageviews a month, paid plans from $9/month |
| Cookies and consent | Uses cookies; in many regions you need a consent banner | No cookies, no consent banner needed for the tracker |
| Who owns the data | Google; used within Google's ecosystem | Stored by us, never sold or used for advertising |
| Setup | Account, property, data stream, tag, then events and conversions to configure | One script tag, or one sentence to your coding agent |
| Learning curve | Steep; reports are flexible but take time to learn | A single dashboard: visitors, pages, sources, countries, funnels |
| AI agent access | Via the Google Analytics API and third-party connectors | Built in: your coding agent reads traffic, funnels and campaigns over MCP |
| Ad platform integration | Deep, with Google Ads | None; this is not an advertising tool |
| Funnels | Funnel explorations in the Explore section | Funnels built from pages and events, readable by your agent |

Choose Google Analytics if
- You run Google Ads and need conversions and audiences synced to it
- You need very detailed, customisable reports and are happy to learn the interface
- You have the budget of time to configure events, consent and data retention properly
Choose agentlytics if
- You want to know what your traffic did without learning a reporting tool
- You want to skip the cookie banner for analytics
- You want your coding agent to answer questions about your site directly
Our take
The honest difference is scope. GA4 does a lot, and most small sites use a small part of it. If your questions are "did the launch post work" and "where do people drop off", a lighter tool answers them in seconds. If you spend on Google Ads and need audiences, GA4 is the better fit, and you can run both side by side.
Questions
Do I need a cookie banner with agentlytics?
The tracker sets no cookies and stores no personal data, so it doesn't need one for analytics. Check your own legal position if you add other tools.
Can I use agentlytics and Google Analytics together?
Yes. They are independent scripts, so you can run both while you decide.
