HTTP status and redirect checker
Check the HTTP status code, redirect chain and response headers of up to 25 URLs at once. Find 404s, redirect loops and long chains. Free, no signup.
What the codes mean
- 200: the page loaded.
- 301 / 308: moved permanently. Search engines pass the old URL's ranking to the new one.
- 302 / 307: moved temporarily. Fine for short-term changes, but use 301 for a permanent move.
- 404 / 410: not found or gone. Fix or redirect links that point here.
- 5xx: the server failed. Check again in a minute; if it persists, it's a hosting problem.
Why redirect chains matter
Each hop adds a round trip before the page starts loading, and long chains can drop UTM tags or referrer data along the way, so campaign visits show up as "direct". Point links, ads and QR codes at the final URL.
Check one URL to see its response headers too: caching, HSTS, x-robots-tag and content security policy.
Questions
Does it follow redirects?
Yes, up to 10 hops, and it shows each status code in the chain. It stops at redirect loops.
Why does a page work in my browser but fail here?
Some sites block requests that aren't from a browser, or show different content by country. The checker runs from Cloudflare's network.
Can I check more than 25 URLs?
Run them in batches of 25. There's a limit of 20 checks a minute per person to keep the tool free.
